Given the duration and intensity of the persistent hacks, it was not a surprise that some people though that I was nuts and that I needed to see a professional. Reluctantly, I did. His initial evaluation was that rather than having a mental illness, that I was extremely driven or “hypo-manic” (less than manic) and this is a quote from him, “I wish that my other patience all had what you have”. I think that I’m one of the few patients that made him laugh. I used laughter rather than crying as my main coping mechanism from the relentless stalking. The psychiatrist had blood tests done and surprise…I’m normal although I need to lose a few pounds.
